My mate had a 340 saloon as his first car in c.1997. He moved on to a Volvo 480 that we were in awe of.

Mine was a white Escort 1.4l, with nice rust detailing coming through around the wheel arches.

Worst Car - Probably that Escort... but I loved it!!

Favourite Car owned - Probably Audi TT or Volvo XC60.... at very different stages in my life!

Dream Car - I'm not that fussed about cars anymore. Probably a 911.

First car - Skoda 105, with the engine in the back. It was free.

Worst car - probably the Citroen C5 which cost me a vast amount in repairs, then broke down completely. Tho the Maestro was a wreck and the Cavalier a heap of junk which only did 21mpg.

Favourite car - My present Skoda Octavia Mk 1, or the Citroen Dyane.

Dream car - Probably an old Bentley, or maybe a classic Land Rover (series 1 or 3).

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

1st - Ford fiesta mark 3. I rolled it and totalled it. I then got another one and it was stolen.

Worst - I had a Rover 214 lsi that I paid £250 inbetween cars. I loved it and the wood dash and strange features but it was a heap

Fave - predictable but my current 530d is class. It keeps getting better

Dream - so many but at the moment I am most excited at getting an i4 next year. The electric cars really are something special

Worst Car - Audi A4 Avant

Best Car - Audi A4 Avant

Dream Car - Jenson Interceptor although more realistically a nice electric one (probably not yet designed).

First Car - Cortina MK3

Worst Car - Vauxhall Viva HB, with crossply remould tyres, a pleasure kids today do not get to experience, or VW passat, I had a lot of problems with it, it was a company car so that could be down to rubbish VW main dealer garage that looked after it.

Favourite car - Citreon Xantia, for comfort, doing 135K miles in 3 years, sorry, but I spent a lot of time in that car and loved the "magic carpet" ride, or Renault Laguna, 220K miles of trouble free driving.

Dream car - Aston Martin DB4.

Impressive

First car - Morris 1300

Worst car - Austin Montego

Favourite car - The Fiat Panda 4x4 that I wrote off five hundred and sixty five days and fourteen hours (approx.) ago

Dream car - some dual fuel electric/log and chip shop waste oil burning thing that is affordable for me and everyone else who wants to minimise fossil fuel use, it will have a shower and fitted kitchen as well as being spacious enough for a three piece suite - yet fold up small enough to get in a day sack so that I can take it on a plane (also electric/ waste oil from a chip shop powered) and not have to bother about luggage reclaim at the other end, basically The Tardis.

First car - Renualt 5. Bought for £300 off my brothers mate in 2003. Wish I had kept it, they're worth a fortune now as 'modern classics'.

Worst car - Probably the Renault 5.

Favourite car - Probably my current BMW X6. It's the first time in my life I've had what I would class a really nice car.

Dream car - My neighbour has an old E Type in his garage. That's very nice but at £100k I' not sure it's that nice. I would go for an Aston Martin DB5.

Oh yes - fortunately nothing was coming the other way as we ended up on the other side of the road. Only had the car for two weeks - spent the next month arguing with Marshall’s of Ipswich about how safe the car was. The sale director drove it for a week, declared it fine, then it did to her!

Quite right, and it would have been much more in the spirit of things to direct you towards an appropriate reminder (one does need them in the later years, doesn't one?) of that first vehicle:

First: Vauxhall Nova, C reg

Worst: Vauxhall Astra, roughly 1996, gave up the ghost at age 4

Favourite: Alfa Romeo GTV, roughly 1996. Shame I lived in Guernsey at the time, with a top speed limit of 35mph! It sounded great at 35mph in second gear...I

Dream: A modern version of that Alfa, with a really great hifi.

1st Car - Rover Metro GTA (British Racing Green)

Worst Car - (although I loved it it was a death trap) Rover 200 Coupe

Fav Car - Either Alfa GT or Suzuki Kizashi (Current Car)

Dream Car - Aston Martin V8 Vantage

First: A 'F' reg Rover 216S. It used to leak through the floor if you drove it in the rain - on the way to / from Bristol Rovers for the infamous cup game in 1998, I had two mates in the mate sponging the puddles that were forming in the rear footwells in to a bucket.

Worst - Kia C'eed I had as a hire car for a few days. Everything about it was awful and cheap.

Favourite - Vauxhall Astra SRi 1.8 I had in 2002 .... I was lucky enough to have a company car, and that was the first permanent one I had. I loved that car. Not enough to top it up with oil though - nearly ruined the engine 100,000 miles in.

Dream car - Don't know really. Quite like the thought of a T5 VW with all the bits on it.
