Caught an interview with a guy from Oxford who explained the research - really great news as it's massively available and prescribed for other things in a clinical setting and so doesn't require a big period of testing before use.

It's a good drug is dexamethasone. It can look like a genuine miracle drug in brain tumours reducing the inter cranial swelling(and subsequent effects on cognition and function) when you give it. I've seen people go from barely moving and speaking to walking to the toilet and going home in the space of 48 hours in the past.
