Evidence if it ever were needed, that rich people will pay extraordinary amounts of money to acquire nice things ( no value given in article, so could be wrong), but then won't pay for the proper necessary upkeep to maintain it.

Many years ago in the last millennium I used to underwrite HNW private individuals who'd think nothing of spending six figure sums on jewellery but tried to resist our requirements for basic security rules.
