Not a lot of fun is it?

Sitting here getting sweaty and trying to focus on work isn't exactly resulting in peak productivity!

Ouch, that sounds pretty grim.

I bought one of these a few years ago....it works a treat for a bit of cool on a hot day

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DURACOOL-EVAPORATIVE-COOLER/202707273587?hash=item2f3

Like air conditioning, but for poor people

Just fill the reservoir with tap water...pop in a couple of blue freezer blocks and blessed cool is yours

It won't cool the whole room, but just a small area.....

I'm going to turn mine off for a few minutes, I am starting to get frost-bite

I am at a factory in Gloucester, loading a container for export, then I'll be driving to Felixstowe with a/c on full blast. #stayingcool #keepingthecountrygoing

My Indian colleagues scoff at me when I complain about the heat. They expect highs of around 45 degrees celsius.

My living room is quite pleasant at the moment, doesn't get too much heat until the afternoon. Given how warm it was when I went for a walk before work I realise I'm fortunate.

Quite enjoying being able to sit in shorts and t-shirt in the heat too.

Don't you just long to re-wind to last summer and be sitting in Headingley stadium watching the Ashes test there ...

27C in the shade here in N. Yorks, but a fresh breeze blowing which makes it relatively comfortable outside (and I quite enjoy the heat anyway).

I'm currently listening to my neighbours's 2 sons 3 doors down having a shouting & swearing argument in their garden over 1 owing the other a fiver. They've been at it for over an hour. Whilst they lift weights bought for them by their mum & dad set-up in a marquee bought for them by their mum & dad. They're constantly angry with everything.

I was going to suggest that specific issue in the OP!

Lots of 'adjustments' that wouldn't be acceptable in a busy office....

I guess the problem is that it's not hot enough on a regular enough basis to make ACs common or worth it in British houses. I notice that when we come back over the summer British houses seem to retain heat and be hot as balls.

It's hot as balls here with crippling humidity from June to October, but there's no sweaty nads in this house thanks to sweet sweet AC. Aw yiiis.

The eldest one drives, in a car his mum & dad bought him. Surprisingly he drives carefully down our road. Perhaps he tries to control the rage that dwells within him until a couple of roads further away. The younger one is angrier I think because his scooter is broken (that mum & dad bought him) so he has to stomp about on foot everywhere. Their anger levels aren't helped by the fact they can't smoke weed in the back garden with their mates whilst both mum & dad are working from home during lock-down.

Totally agree. They are brilliant. However my Beldray unit cost £60. Someone tucked you up there.
