The first of many ?

Must have suffered without their massive crowds.

Very much the first of many, too many clubs were unsustatinable before Covid hit. I wonder how the 10 point penalty works given it is now June.

Yes they can't really be missing match day revenue much due to the small crowds?

First of many I would think.

Thank god for Marcus :)

This one in particular does stink a bit.

Admin after being owned for just 4 weeks? A quick way of clearing debt for new owners and ‘re-setting’ in L1?

12 point penalty if applied and would be applied this season as it is a punishment. If they were already down it would apply next season

We might end up back in the Championship by default if it gets really bad.

Tend to agree that there will be more.

As for a points duction, the EFL are going to have to show some consistency being as more clubs will be joining them in admin.

Slightly sad times for me as I used to go to Wigan when I was a young boy. Northern Premier League at Springfield park.

Good point re the penalty - presumably clubs will argue this shouldn’t apply given the circumstances, which would be reasonable if this was the sole factor but probably just brought to a head deep-rooted issues that already existed, as you suggest

Ah I didn’t realise that

Resetting - plus as per my other post I expect them to argue a deduction shouldn’t apply under the circumstances so probably a tactical move on that front too

I think they’ll struggle to argue the points penalty not applying.

It would have needed to be suspended before the restart and voted on by other clubs. No way are they agreeing to let them off

Surely, any due diligence by the EFL around the purchase of the club must be questioned too?

12 points deduction this season will take them from mid table to likely relegation to L1 and the £8m hit to turnover, why would they opt for that? Wouldn't they be better off staying in the Championship and starting next season on -12.

12 point deduction confirmed by EFL. Just to determine which season it applies to
