Said before Trump will win comfortably. Lots of family living in the USA in various states and they all say the same.

Where is he getting the states to win? He's got to defend tiny majorities in the rust belt, whilst holding on to 5 or 6 other swing states, including the now-competitive Texas, Georgia and Arizona. Lots of people are predicting a Trump win just because not many expected him to do it last time, but this election is entirely different. Biden has been polling above 50% fairly consistently and whilst Clinton too had a lead at this point in 2016, she never polled above 50%. 2016 was a choice between 2 unpopular candidates and the large number of undecided voters went for Trump on the day, which swung it, but this time the number of undecided voters is smaller. And I say that as someone who thought Trump would win last time

Trump or Biden? (US Election 2020 Thread) on 23:06 - Aug 8 by tractordownsouth | The national polls are narrowing slightly but Biden still has a healthy lead both nationally and in the swing states. The Economist is now considering Texas as a tossup (no candidate has a 65% chance of victory) with Trump the most likely winner, and puts Ohio and Georgia on exactly 50/50 North Carolina has also moved into the 'Likely Biden' column. I don't think any of those 4 will flip but Biden doesn't need them, so the fact they're so tight is a positive. Biden will have to come out of his basement at some point soon and then it'll be a case of who can make the fewest gaffes. But with such a healthy Democrat lead, Trump has far less room for manouvre. https://projects.economist.com/us-2020-forecast/president |
You should get out more laddie and enjoy the sun and stop worrying about the USA election until at least November 2nd. This obsession is not good for you.

Mother won't be happy if he drops a brain whoopsie live on TV. Pence is such a freak that he won't allow himself to be alone in a room with any woman other than his wife. Watching him have to talk to a woman for a couple of hours on stage is going to be delicious. Odds on him chubbing up half way through? Hmm. J2, what do you reckon?

She was my Dad's favoured pick, either her or Stacey Abrams. Not sure either is experienced enough yet though and with Biden's age, this was arguably the most important quality for his running mate. The only other potential choice with the right amount of experience would have been Elizabeth Warren but she was possibly too old. Are you hoping for a Biden victory? I think you'd vind the Republican Voters Against Trump movement on Twitter quite interesting, lots of videos of lifelong right wingers talking about what has made them decide to vote Democrat for the first time this November.

As amusing and effective as these adverts are, it important for Democrats to remember that they're still being put out there by Republicans. The people behind the ads still want to control women's bodies, they still want unregulated gun ownership, they still want massive tax breaks for corporations and billionaires, they still want a Healthcare system that punishes the poor, they still want to roll back environmental regulations, they still want Christianity to have far too much say on matters of state, they still want to stuff the courts with conservative judges, and they still want to persue hyper aggressive foreign policies. They just want to go about it the old fashioned way, which is quietly with a fig leaf of respectability. So for now while the enemy of my enemy is my friend, as soon as Trump is out of the picture they'll start training their slick well funded campaign weapons at Democrats again. They aren't Democratic friends, despite their usefulness right now. [Post edited 11 Aug 2020 23:54]

"Mr Biden tweeted that he had "the great honour" to name Ms Harris as his number two. He described her as "a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country's finest public servants". He noted how she had worked closely with his late son, Beau, when she was California's attorney general. "I watched as they took on the big banks, lifted up working people, and protected women and kids from abuse," he tweeted. "I was proud then, and I'm proud now to have her as my partner in this campaign." " [Post edited 11 Aug 2020 22:22]

I don't think I've ever seen anyone 'innocently' wonder about whether a white male got a job because he was a white male. Never. Harris is more than qualified for the role. 1,000,000% more than the freak currently in the VP role. [Post edited 12 Aug 2020 1:57]
