Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

Would be a great bit of business. Really add to the attacking options.

Wyke is a big strapping old school centre forward.

Would be happy to swap with Edwards.

Looking at his stats he’s a striker who doesn’t score much. We already have enough of those.

Bradford he was decent to be fair. At 27 it's an interesting one as he's got a few years left but isn't likely to be a massive coup for the long term. He could well get us out of this division, I just don't see how we address the lack of creativity and the gaps in defence beyond Chambers, KVY and Woolfenden yet.

A frontline of him and Norwood would be one for the purists!

Sheffield United have a forward that hasn't scored a league goal all season but he starts every week and their fans love him. Football should never be about stats

A straight swap deal for Edwards would improve us

I've never seen him play and have no idea if he is any good though

While I agree with your general point I think you've gone over the top in saying football should "never" be about stats.
Statistics are a very useful tool when used correctly.

Are you mad?
Football stats make football interesting when the action stops.
And you quote them all the time - as in "Sheffield Utd have a forward........"

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

Certainly fits the brief for the big idiot upfront that our ‘style’ was crying out for at times last year.

Look at this thread on Ready To Go - they all seem to think he's absolute rubbish and would offload him for free. Not the most encouraging signing if true.

Alan Lee was rubbish according to Cardiff fans.

Well, as we're changing our nickname from The Tractor Boys to The Lower League Plodders, he'll fit right in.

11 in 60 is pretty awful for any forward player. Its not even particularly good for a midfielder.

It is. But he had a good strike rate at Carlisle and Bradford and arguably has more pedigree at this level than Norwood.

Though, until Suinderland got their hands on him his record from age 22 onwards at Carlisle then Bradford reads: played 133 goals 54 - not quite so shabby. He may, of course, never recover that streak, but, at a low cost, he could prove be a good risk.

Nouble would comfortably walk into our squad currently.

Possibly.

Though looking more closely- he had two years at carlise and got about 36 in that time- 18 a year. Not a bad record. 71 apps and 13 as sub.

Bradford- in 18 months, 22 goals from 54. Okayish perhaps as a second striker.

But he's 27. In his entire career he has managed 3 and a bit decent years...

Only as filler. There's no way he'd get in ahead of Norwood or Jackson imo. Norwood's got a lot more goals in him, Jackson's more mobile, football intelligent and useful as a foil (and has more goals in him too).

He'd be a very useful battering ram to bring off the bench, start in particular games where the defence need a lot of time on the ball or as an auxiliary winger against a particularly physically weak full back.

F*ck it, I'm starting a re-sign Nouble campaign.

All quite true - though a genuine hold-up player might offer us a little more than his stats suggest. Murphy's overall stats aren't great either, especially if one excludes the 27 goal season.
