Johnson blaming it on care homes 18:32 - Jul 6 with 2646 viewstractordownsouth

It's not often I get seriously angry but this is taking the p1ss... Care homes didn't choose to accept Covid patients without testing them, that was his own govt's policy... plus support staff have been working much harder than he is during this crisis....

This is really below the belt, even for him

On that note, have you seen the people in America refusing to wear masks in supermarkets, chanting "my body my choice?"

Probably the same people that scream abuse at women outside abortion clinics

Many people struggle to admit they were wrong, over a whole range of issues. Accepting that you helped elect an out of depth moron who has contributed to thousands of needless deaths by his indecision is difficult for tory voters to accept.

You know what, I reckon Mexico SHOULD pay for a wall. They should go halves with Canada on it and see if they can get a lid as well as a northern wall too.

I guess the correct response is to strip off, jump in there trolley, and give them a face full of a swinging tallywacker nicely in sync with with saying my body my choice.

How would you feel if you had an elderly relative in a care home, you were not allowed to visit that relative, the carers change daily, the carers live with their family and do not live in isolation, the carers bring Covid into the care home because they are free to be with their families, free to shop for necessities, free to travel on public transport?

The carers are not at fault, they are poorly paid and majorly mismanaged. Mismanaged by the care home owners.

NHS England along with care home owners and managers are to blame for approximately 30000 deaths.

I think you make a pertinent point about potential mismanagement of care homes and the paying peanuts problem, but that doesn’t change the fact that the government have let our most vulnerable down big style mate.

Cuts after cuts after cuts along with a level of mismanagement and naivety left us wide open at the start of this pandemic, the government have never been truly honest about just how open and why, they have blood on their hands.

The government are a lying shambles. The root cause of the care home shambles is the failure of successive governments to put enough money and long term thought into the care sector.

Agreed with Matt Hancock

"Two days later, the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) and NHS England and Improvement published the discharge requirements in detail.

There was no requirement to test everyone who was discharged to see if they were infected"

Wholeheartedly agree, this pandemic really should make us take stock and re-evaluate what the so called “key workers” are being paid and what it really takes to hold these important positions in society.
