13.

I thought it might be more given I had read all of the top eight but about right given I don't read much fiction these days.

Edit as I missed Blindness on the first run through.

22. I thought that was pretty feeble but I'm currently second top scorer.

Although I have counted 'Slaughterhouse 5 which I've never finished for some reason.

Only 1 Culture book and it comes in at number 82?

I believe I've read 18.

20 for me. Some I really struggled through. I remember Dune in particular being a bit of a slog (and I only read it as I was addicted to playing Dune 2 as a 14 year old).

Just eleven, I think. But I have read all the Iain M. Banks books and some Harlan Ellison so I reckon I am ahead of someone who has only read that hundred. Also, no Neil Gaiman or J.G. Ballard?

My sci-fi loving mate at work looks like a kettle reading that list! Just muttering about space operas and rocking back and forth now...

It says the list is limited to one book when they're from a series.

Ah, I didn't read that bit :).

Still think it's rather low but then lists like this are always a bit subjective.

If we are counting ones we haven't finished then I am up to 15 as I have never finished 1984 on the grounds that is boring as fwck.

I said I’d do this for a laugh even though I don’t read and got a record low of one

I’ll be impressed if somebody beats that! 5 points for anybody who guesses which one I’ve read.

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

Brave New World.

You read it at school because it was on the syllabus.

Incorrect, wasn’t on my syllabus.

For the record I didn’t read this book at school.

They give their definition at the start but a bit dubious to count some of them as 'sci-fi'.

17, anyway.

Aye. I'm still wondering what makes Animal Farm sci-fi?

Is it because the animals can talk? Which is also why Bambi is one of my favourite Sci-Fi films.

The omission of The Player of Games has made me far angrier than it should have

21. But the list seems highly questionable as a reference point and is a damning indictment of readers generally:-) 3 Neal Stephenson novels and a Star Wars franchise job? And Ready player One? Really?!

Popularity does not equal quality!

It may be more than 21. I have read a lot of Heinlein and may have read a couple more than I have given myself credit for on the list. I started Snowcrash as well- but could get past three chapters. Was awful.

Man in the High Castle is obviously only there due to the series.
