Why on earth was Gove not wearing one if that is the policy?

As Hancock said this morning.

Policy doesn't come into play on this until the 24th but as was pointed out to him....Gove himself said it would be 'good manners' to wear one! So, why indeed!

That aside.....if they are doing it for Public Transport and shops...why on earth not offices were people spend way more time, even if there might be fewer people.

Because its less practical and more hassle.

But they wont say that- so instead they are claiming its medically less relevant, for reasons they choose not to explain (but probably amount to the fact that if you spend 8 hours a day in a confined space with a carrier, you are screwed, mask or not- be nice if they were just honest about that).

I'd assume because people don't spend money in offices?

Think that is the key really.

Masks will help lower the passing risk of spreading the virus via random vectors. They'll do little to nothing over an 8-hour period, 5 days a week in a shared space.

Which does, somewhat then, beg the question or using them in shops and on public transport. ;)

In an office environment there should be more control over where people are located to maintain distancing, and I imagine a lot of people who work in offices are still mainly working from home?

Face coverings are being used (rightly or wrongly I don't know) for when the distance between people is smaller. I can see the benefit when someone goes the wrong way down an aisle at the supermarket or walks past you on a bus for example.
