Frying pan tips... 12:11 - Jul 16 with 1230 views | BanksterDebtSlave | One that gets good and hot on an electric hob but without non stick flakes in a couple of years. Is cast iron the only way to go.

Frying pan tips... on 12:23 - Jul 16 with 1194 views | catch74 | I use non stick but certain things knacker them quickly - dishwasher being the obvious no-go, don’t use any metal utensils or cleaning products, apparently frying tomato is a bit of a killer. I think leaving to cool down and then soaking and making sure thoroughly clean after use is also helpful.

Frying pan tips... on 13:14 - Jul 16 with 1092 views | jeera | One with a handle. Definitely needs a handle. Isn't cast iron sort of wasted on an electric hob? I mean I would like them myself but would rather change the cooker to accommodate if that's the route I'm going down.

I too have an induction hob and think it is great. Never had an issues with particularly expensive cookware for it. The only thing that has been an issue with it is my Moka pot. Ended up buying a camping burner to make decent coffee on.

I am a proper pleb when it comes to coffee. The look on people's faces when I ask for an instant :-)

Frying pan tips... on 13:21 - Jul 16 with 1076 views | hampstead_blue | We use a heavy duty stainless steel pan. Easy to clean with a metal scouring pad and indestructible. Non-stick doesn't work and apparently leaches chemicals into your food. A quality one will last you for life.
| Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me.
Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing.
Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial.
Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid.
Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

Nothng wrong with a bit of instant. The Moka pot comes out as a weekend luxury but at most other times that stuff from Aldi is fine.

I'll forgive you your weekend bourgeoisie imitations seeing as how you strike me as (on most topics) a thoroughly reasonable poster. You weren't one of those who liked sprouts were you?

We lost our calor gas bottles when we qualified for a grant to install an oil tank and central heating in our rented place....health and safety gone mad (mind you if they could see the wiring for our cooker!)
