I remember doing a charity walk to Orford Ness Lighthouse back in the 1990's. We started at Woodbridge and walked through Rendlesham Forest to Orford on a blisteringly hot day. It's one of my favourite parts of Suffolk. Sad that the lighthouse has gone but the sea was starting to encroach even back then.

I believe one suggested was a spinning lights display from somewhere like Hollywood's Night Club
There was actually a satellite re-entry around the time of the event and possibly a comet also which could have given the impression of something coming down below the trees
There was actually a UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon) report available from the National Archives which mentions possible explanations for what was seen |  |

One of my favourite rides was out to Orford via Woodbridge and Melton. If I was feeling particularly energetic, I'd sometime get the ferry across from Bawdsey and then back through the Trimleys to Ipswich. |  |
