Cowleys sacked by Hudds. (n/t) on 14:30 - Jul 19 with 3230 views | DinnernotTea | Huddersfield had 1 point after 8 games when they turned up in September. They've just beaten 2nd placed West Brom to stay up. Strange and disgusting decision by Hudds. Of course Evans won't act but the Cowleys are exactly what we need.

Their points gained after they took over would work at just over 62 across the 45 matches played. This would place them 11th, one position above Derby. In fact quite similar to the job Mick achieved in his first season here. A couple of season's success seems to increase entitlement out of all proportion. [Post edited 19 Jul 2020 15:01]

Cowleys sacked by Hudds. (n/t) on 14:58 - Jul 19 with 3088 views | itfcjoe | Crazy decision, Evans should go all out for them here. At the time wasn't a massive fan of how they played, but they clearly have something about them and done a very good job wherever they have been and shown their methods work through the divisions

Cowleys sacked by Hudds. (n/t) on 15:02 - Jul 19 with 3032 views | Herbivore | I wouldn't want them here. After enduring pretty abject football under Lambert for the past couple of years I'd prefer a manager that gets us knocking it about a bit more. That said, the sacking looks a very harsh decision and it makes you wonder what is going on there. They've achieved what they were tasked to achieve, not letting them build on that isn't very fair.

Just watching Derby v Leeds, both of them playing good stuff - goal kicks all short, playing through the thirds, stretching the game out Give me that over Cowley's, but just give me a plan of some sort

I'd definitely take a plan right now, that's for sure. I'd just like something a little more watchable than the Cowley's. I think we have players with the ability to play that way as well, we just don't have a manager who knows how to set them up to do it.

Similar thoughts. Let's just get out of this division then worry about the style and how to move forward once back in the Championship when we will be more attractive. How Southampton dealt with Nigel Adkins after 2 promotions being a good example. [Post edited 19 Jul 2020 15:30]

We’re way below their aspirations I would have thought.

Not sure about that. They've done a decent job at Huddersfield and don't deserve to be sacked but not sure there will be many clubs at that level clamouring to bring them in.

I agree too Joe. Perhaps it has already happened, but I think Evans should have an honest conversation with some senior players, like Chambers and Skuse, and ask if anything is really going to change this season. I'm not endorsing player power, and I know they did it with Hurst, but if the players don't respect Lambert, or believe he can change and get us promoted, then we are going to have an even worse season next year. We should go for Cowley, and before any other decent league one team do.

If Ipswich was two hundred miles further North then perhaps. Being close to their Essex roots, which they only left for Huddersfield, you are their ideal job right now. Your owner will have to offer them the same sort of money they were on in Yorkshire however. [Post edited 19 Jul 2020 15:48]

I believe that Nathan Jones would have had us playing decent stuff and got us promoted. Right now I'd take anyone irrespective of style to takeover from the serial chancer and get us out of this godforsaken league.

Hah! No chance. And even if it was, you could guarantee Evans would offer Lambert an improved contract to stay here. It’s the way we roll.
