I was hospitalized a couple of times as a nipper for bronchitis and pneumonia, I've always had bad asthms. I got my nose smashed up as a kid too by getting a boot in the face which left me with a deviated septum which basically means I have half a nostril working and can't breathe through my nose. Idiots, beyond belief stupid. Also seen two other stories today that made me question what is wrong with some people. A massive rave near bath or somewhere and a funeral in Blackburn with 250 people. Seriously, what’s wrong with some people in this country? It’s like they want to go back into lockdown. Crazy. Follow a few simple rules and we won’t have to be locked in our house again. I haven't been in a shop for months. When masks are compulsory I will probably go in the occasional shop during quieter periods but without masks I guarantee I wouldn't be going in.
I don't think people understand that we need the numbers as low as possible before winter to prevent a second wave and to protect the NHS. If masks cut the new infection rate by 5% it's a sacrifice worth making. |  |

Despite Boris saying that this was introduced because 'the science has changed', in reality it is more of a desperate attempt to save the High Street. People understandably turned to online shopping during lockdown and many are continuing with that.
The Government hopes that the sense of security provided by a face covering will encourage folk back into shops. |  | | |
