he really is the unluckiest anti-racist in all history.
| And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show |

It's certainly a clumsy answer to the interviewer's analogy of the French police as Jesus on the cross. Melenchon should retract it and distance himself from the antisemitic implication. As should Boris when he actually wrote about greedy, malevolent Jews, I'm sure you'd agree. Maybe if I found you a picture of Corbyn and Johnson together?

What's depressing is how utterly predictable this is on 14:44 - Jul 21 by Darth_Koont | I think that's massively naive re: influence. You only have to see on this thread how the narrative against him has taken hold. I'm sure you remember how people characterised the ANC and its supporters back in the day? How anti-nuclear, anti-war and environmental protestors were/are presented as communist agitators? How legitimate Irish republican concerns were ignored flat out as not giving into terrorism? How Pro-Palestinians looking for sanctions and censure against Israel are automatically defined as antisemitic? How Black Lives Matter is now being portrayed as a Marxist plot? How Iraq, Syria, Libya, Al Qaeda, the Taliban, China etc. can go from allies to enemies as soon as the wind changes? These are stories we are told until we start telling them ourselves. Doesn't make any of them true or indeed the world a better place. |
Re your first para - neither this thread nor TWTD is representative of life or thought "out there"! I doubt the majority even read a paper. It'd take me over an hour to reply to the rest & your next post, & I've only come in to change strimmer batteries & have a quick look while stuffing some biccies into gob! Luckily Swansea summarised a lot for me :)

Quite. Here we have a publicly strident anti-racist who has dedicated decades of his life to shuffling to the ballot box, only to privately, and presumably by accident, stick an X in the box of whatever Tory candidate is available. I mean, what are the chances!? Oh. You were talking about Corbyn weren't you? [Post edited 21 Jul 2020 15:45]

Is [redacted] still talking about me? I’m flattered that I still occupy so much space in his mind. Perhaps I fill a void that is lacking in his personal life. Tbh it’s only the odd downvote and replies like yours to their posts that reminds me that the toxic twins still post on here.

The truth of the matter as to why I'm on ignore is pretty obvious. He has tried and ultimately failed to goad me into losing my cool like he does with other posters. He will never succeed with this because, to me, he's a Harry Enfield character. He can't lay a glove on me because I think he's a pompous figure of ridicule. So, when he finally realised that can't get the reaction out of me that he's looking for, he puts his fingers in his ears rather than deal with me highlighting some of the contradictory and hypocritical positions he takes. He's spent years on here accusing all and sundry of being racist with little to no evidence, even at one point threatening to report posts to 'relevant outside bodies'. If that's not a direct threat to negatively interfere with the real lives of the people who use this site then I don't know what is. I don't know how he continues to get away with it, but honestly I think he's become a big problem for this site, and I doubt anyone knows how to control it now because of the stink he'd cause if pulled up on it. I don't care if he reads my posts or not as they aren't for his benefit. The fact he's put me on ignore let's me know I've pricked his bubble. [Post edited 21 Jul 2020 16:44]

Incredibly similar to knowingly preferring defeat with mis guided principles to power and change with compromise, those who fanatically backed JC will never be able to cleanse that stain.

That's utterly illogical. Corbyn was the democratically elected leader of the Labour Party. Elected by the members in a landslide. So I should feel "ashamed" for voting for Labour and ushering in a TORY government????!! To be honest I think you're trying desperately to find someone else to blame. And deflect from your own failings here. You're not alone - there's a whole media establishment and amateur pundits who have also let themselves and the country down with their bizarre interpretation of "fighting the Tories". Well, the left-punching certainly worked well — about as much as it did for the LibDems too. It didn't at all enable a right-wing majority and embolden a frankly incompetent and corrupt government.

Ok, I’ve no doubt I’ll regret getting involved but I think you’ve got GB totally wrong here and this post is completely OTT. I also think GB has you and DK equally wrong. It’s clear as day to anyone looking in from the outside that none of you are racist or antisemitic. It’s also pretty bloody tedious when some of the most intelligent and interesting posters on the site resort to these petty slanging matches and personal attacks. This was an interesting thread that was really thought provoking and now it’s a steaming pile of horse sh1t.

Being unfairly labelled a racist for months on end and having the threat of 'outside bodies' being informed of the matter does tend to colour your opinion of an individual though. I don't consider this acceptable behaviour and I'm not going to stop highlighting it. I am allowed to defend myself from these ridiculous smears. Perhaps if more people addressed this behaviour rather than looking the other way then threads wouldn't get trashed as frequently as they do. I have no ill feeling towards you, and there's no need to go down the road of an argument, but I would just suggest that had you been on the receiving end of this you may feel different. After all, it's not just me he's been doing this to. I shall leave it there, but this does feel like another TWTD example of being angry at the protester rather than the thing being protested. I appreciate that on the whole. And it doesn't do anyone any favours. But maybe you should call him out on those accusations and indeed the sketchy narratives and politicking he is being called out for in the first place? I give GB a hard time because he's dishonest and disingenuous on an almost daily basis. [Post edited 21 Jul 2020 18:32]
