What they have to gain is a closed shop top two divisions with no further relegation. Clubs like Wolves, Bournemouth, Sheffield United, Watford, for example, have all been in the 4th tier during my lifetime. None of them want a return, best way to avoid it is to close the shop. Clubs like Notts County, now 5th tier, have been in tier 1. | |
