Rebound Nets - Anyone had one? on 12:57 - Jul 22 with 2570 views | Bluefish | Yep bought one in lockdown for my son. He is 16 but loves getting out playing football everyday. 2 issues It soon wore the grass out in the garden He says it was too heavy/too much effort to take out with him I doubt it will ever get used again

Yes, that was a the main concern. My lad is only 6, so he may be more interested in it, but I can see it getting forgotten.

Rebound Nets - Anyone had one? on 13:05 - Jul 22 with 2552 views | midastouch | My lad has one and hasn't used it as much as I thought he would. Â It's also a bit too big to put in the car boot, especially when you're in a hurry. Â A good old fashioned brick wall is a lot better! Â :-)

You beat me to it, I used to do the exact same thing when I was a kid. Loved it. Sometimes I used to hit the windows though! I also used to do the same playing tennis. [Post edited 22 Jul 2020 13:08]

He's only 6, so it was just an idea for when I'm not around to kick about with him.

My son tried one of these too but again didn't seem that keen: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Football-Training-Improvement-Equipment-Adjustable/dp/B He just prefers somebody smashing shots at him to try and save! But it's not very expensive and might be something to play with for when you're not about to play with him. | |

Rebound Nets - Anyone had one? on 13:53 - Jul 22 with 2466 views | Chrisd | Yes my lad has one MM, he uses his quite frequently for catching and volleying. Adaptable for cricket fielding too. We've found it quite useful, but he's a few years older than your lad. [Post edited 22 Jul 2020 14:04]

Do you have a link to the one you bought? Prices seem to vary from about £50 to £150!

I'd rather not build a brick wall in my garden. ;-)

I tried to set my computer password to "ManchesterCity'sDefence". It said it was too weak. God knows what it would say if I tried to change it to "Nsiala&Chambers" instead! :-)

In that case, I'd say one of those rebound nets is a few years too old for him. I kicked the ball against the side of my house for hours at about 6 years old, or you could just go into the garden and do some passing with him?

Our rebounder is very similar to the one highlighted in your original post. We got ours about 5 years ago, but I'd say the pricing seems about right.

Rebound Nets - Anyone had one? on 19:59 - Jul 22 with 2252 views | No_Moore_Kieffer | Rather than a net, get a rebound board. Keeps the ball on the floor under a more controlled path and generally better for kids learning the game. That's what we use when we coach group and 1-to-1 sessions [Post edited 22 Jul 2020 20:00]

Rebound Nets - Anyone had one? on 09:21 - Jul 23 with 2165 views | hampstead_blue | I've got the cricket version, Crazy Catch. It's brilliant. If it's got a random side then they will get sharper. I've found slightly changing the angle of set-up is a great way of taking the ball at varying heights to be really useful. Set it at the most awkward angle for them and they, will persistence, hopefully improve lots. I use mine for coaching adults and youth players as well as on my own for my own training. Great purchase. Wish my Dad had bought me one of these!
| Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me.
Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing.
Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial.
Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid.
Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.
