This is an old favourite tune, it was the B-side of the first single I ever bought - Green Manalishi, but I have never heard this live version before. Completely different vibe. Recording comes from 1970, so shortly before both Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer withdrew from live performance:
I know it's the obvious one but I don't think there's ever been a better song to sit back and light a fat one to than this. I love that in the time of Clapton,Beck, Page, Pete Townsend, Hendrix, guitar playing was getting louder and heavier, there's Peter Green playing the softest, gentle blues with no screaming singer. It's beautiful.
According to the obituary in the times, Fleetwood Mac outsold The Beatles and Rolling Stones put together in the 60's.
Given the slightly less bluesy success of Rumours in the 70s I gues this is why Fleetwood & McVie are basking in their Hawaian mansions - whilst Peter Green forms a new group in heaven with sundry drummers to chose from.
