Golf has always been a part of our family from great-grandparents, great-aunts and uncles. There's nothing about golf that is racist or classist from where I come from in Scotland.
But my God, golf clubs themselves don't half attract some awful people and make them feel as if they're free to come out with stuff like that. And in my experience the South East golf clubs are by far the worst. |  |

My sister and her husband run the catering at a club in Derbyshire and she says the members are a breed of their own.
Plenty show up in flash cars and parade all the gear etc, then quibble about a few pence on a sandwich. |  |

Certainly pretty outrageous that it's KD who feels he has to leave & not the perpetrators who get the boot. There were several witnesses after all.
Apart from anything else, you'd have thought the Club themselves would have realised that not reassuring KD they'd take swift & strong action, then actually following up on that, is going to give their reputation a pretty bad name, with lots of bad publicity & a consequent hit to their finances.
Maybe other members could stage a protest/boycott? |  |

my money is on that fact the person guilty of the abuse is a key figure down there and brings in too much money via golf days and bar spending and events. |  |
