It's a passtime, not a sport. It's boring to be honest. You can go for walks in much nicer places where you don't have to occasionally hit a ball and get cross with yourself. |  |

I couldn't give two toots about golf, if people enjoy it good for them it makes no difference to me. But, a golf course isn't beautiful scenery to be honest. More often than not it's an environmental blight on the landscape. |  |

Personally not a fan of the sport, but I do see why mates love it.
However I couldn’t (personally) decide to spend 4/5 hours per sat/sun away from the family.
Couple of hours for football, yep. A day on the piss for football once a month yep. But golfing every weekend... can see why marriages go tits up |  |

I would also argue that class is not [necessarily] defined by social categories either.

Sadly no weekend golf for me either. I tend to get afternoons through the summer occasionally. I really want to join somewhere and have a good crack at being good but I just don't have the time with 3 kids. |  |
