You'd have thought they'd have chosen somewhere different to the River Otter. That's really kicking the otters in the plums.

The otters are dammed if they do, and dammed if they don't

A few years back, an older bloke in my office from Yorkshire came in one morning and was telling us about this creature that had startled him on his commute in. We asked him what it was like, and he began to describe it (in a thick Yorkshire accent)...”it was sort of slender, with short legs and really hairy...” (it wasn’t Mick talking about Stephen Hunt)...and then he just burst out, “it was like a really hairy beaver”. A few of us sat there laughing and told him to Google it thinking he’d know what he’d just said, he hadn’t and promptly went on Google typing “UK hairy beaver” and then hitting images. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much in the workplace. Great times.

Anyway, great to hear the news about the UK beavers.

There are also beavers in Finchingfield in North Essex on a private estate, they are hoping that they will reduce down stream flooding.

Very nice village is Finchingfield. Good cycling country too.
