Do we get bonus points for signing players earlier than other clubs? 17:07 - Aug 6 with 894 viewsIllinoisblue

A lot of bed wetting and blubbing on Twitter about us not signing anyone yet. Unless we’re bringing in proven quality - as Mick did so well with Fraser, Lawrence, Celina etc. - I would much rather give our youths an extended run in the side.

Yes. An extra few points by having the team bedded down and all ready from the first game.

It must help to get the team settled early, but you're right that quality is more important. Also there's no point signing players early when they are injured, which also seems to be a favourite plan for us.

No but if the salary cap comes in then any players signed before tomorrow will only count partially towards that cap

A club spending more than it earns, no clear idea of when fan will be able to watch matches again and a large, if unbalanced, squad. I'm really not sure signing additional players should be the priority for nay club at the moment.

That's where we have an advantage in waiting, see. Because Lambert won't be playing the same line-up, formation or style of play two matches running so we don't need to worry about bedding in.
