Think Ward might be taller than Cornell.

Hawkins, Cornell and Ward sign (n/t) on 14:13 - Aug 17 with 2944 views | pointofblue | Looking at the photo - they look delighted to be here, don’t they? Basically they’re replacements for Norris, Garbutt and Keane. Cornell will hopefully be less accident prone, Ward better at left back and Hawkins at least fit for most of the time. Good luck to all three.

Just seen the photo. You could be right. Phil needs to get a definitive answer on Cornell's height.

Hawkins, Cornell and Ward sign (n/t) on 14:27 - Aug 17 with 2795 views | CokeIsKey | Will having this trio instead of Garbutt, Keane and Norris improve us from being 11th to promotion? Doubt it. Would’ve preferred signings who might make a difference and won’t retire in the next few years, but that must be too much to ask for.

The three you mention were the very definition of short term signings last season... ....yet you're concerned about people retiring in a few years?

Hawkins, Cornell and Ward sign (n/t) on 14:36 - Aug 17 with 2721 views | El_Fenix | Good signings. Ward should be a stabilizing influence this season; and Cornell will compete with Holy, without being a loan player ... I especially like the signing of Hawkins, who will provide new options for both attack and defence. Among other things, he will be a proper target when we play hoofball; and losing Jackson or Norwood would have less impact. I am feeling a flicker of hope for the coming season ... It's always the hope that kills you ...

Hawkins, Cornell and Ward sign (n/t) on 14:51 - Aug 17 with 2630 views | haynes_toe1 | Fingers crossed. Not going to pretend to know enough having not watched them religiously but I know how much Stoke fans thought Ward's legs had gone and had nothing to offer anymore. Hopefully that's less obvious in league one. Anyone know why Hawkins only played 8 times last season? Obviously he's not a prolific goalscorer, does he get many assists?

Wards' legs at 34 was my main concern too, surely we needed a new defender with good mobility?

Depends if he's a LB or LWB I guess. 34 year old pro's are in pretty good nick these days.

Ward is likely to more solid perhaps, I can't see him being better at going forward but may add a bit more leadership as well They're all competent enough League One players Hopefully we can get a blue ribbon player through the door. It seemed to be the case that Lambert was after an attacking midfielder in January?
