League One Goal Stats 11:20 - Aug 27 with 1282 viewsMarshalls_Mullet

Quite an interesting table for looking at number of chances and conversion etc.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/league-one/top-scorers

Kayden Jackson comes out of it quite well.

Conversion ratio nearly double that of Norwood. Seems right from what I saw last season.

How can you tell conversion rate from those stats? Or am I missing something!

When I saw Norwoods stats for last season (edit: I meant his last season at Tranmere), he was similar to Ivan Toney in that he was top scorer but had literally had about twice as many shots as the rest of the strikers in the table.

Goal conversion on that table is no of goals as a % of shots.

If we had 2 strikers in the top 10 of that table we might stand half a chance of auto-promotion. But we don't.

Neither did the promoted sides.

Yes, it was pretty obvious.

As I said yesterday (or day before) Norwood is not a clinical striker.

And get there are some Town fans who claim he has no end product to his game.
A poor mans Theo Walcott I heard one fan describe him as.

Stats glorious stats ..you can read what you like into them

Minutes per goal shows Norwood much better than Jackson, so does this mean Jackson wasn’t in the right areas of the pitch to shoot often enough ....

The stats certainly suggest that Norwood was in positions to miss chances more often than Jackson yes.

Perhaps Jackson spent too much time with assists.
