Although Nsiala had a good game yesterday, most fans would like to see him offloaded and his loan spell last year suggests that Lambert isn't his biggest fan either. If there was any interest, might we see Nsiala sold/loaned out and Oli Hawkins played primarily as a CB, with Drinan as backup to Norwood as the central striker?

Can't see it. We only really have Norwood that can play that central role with Hawkins and Drinan as back up. Drinan has only played one first team game for us and whilst he did well it is only one game thus far and we have to remember that up until now he's been considered to be a fair way away from the first team picture.

Might be a good solution to the wage issue though. Hawkins covers 2 positions and Ndaba can also be considered as back up but wouldn't count towards the salary cap, whereas Nsiala does due to age.

Not sure Nsiala would want to go though - nobody will offer him the money he's on here

Toto needs to stay for now (especially if Chambers is injured for a time).

Hawkins is clearly here as a striker and showed a few good things yesterday I thought, looks like a useful bench option.

I can't see us signing anyone else so we may as well keep Nsiala. He's got ability and has been a consistent performer at this level in the past. It's not really happened for him here but by all accounts he had a good game yesterday and with a proper preseason behind him he could be a useful squad player.

He's a really strange player. I was at the Exeter League Cup game where he made his debut and he was the best player on the pitch, he won everything in the air and looked assured, but he's also had games like Accrington away and QPR at home. All players have their bad days, but he goes from the sublime to the ridiculous with little in between.

Why would we sell someone who has come back since pre season and been very good.

Time away last year at Bolton was more to clear his own head and get some time away from the club, the guy was receiving pelters on the socials last year by some muppets, was good for him to have time away.

Definitely wouldn’t be looking to offload him now, he’s in very good form.

That QPR home game was a car crash all round. Coming on for the Accrington game he looked every inch a player who hadn't played in 5 months and he ended up having a shocker. He's had plenty of decent games but as a defender especially everyone tends to remember the poor games and the errors. If he can get a bit of confidence back and cut out some of the errors he'll be very handy to have around. He's the most commanding CB at the club.

My big problem with Nsiala is he simply cannot read the game . True yesterday was much better than he often is but sadly the faults are still there. 10 minutes or so in when it was still goalless Bristol got their best chance , think Dozzell lost the ball in midfield and they ended up with a great shooting chance just outside the box , A good defender who can read the game could have seen that chance coming and been quick to close the Bristol player down ,throwing himself into the fireing line and making a block Toto did not move untill it was too late . Luckly the shot was pulled wide but it should have been on target and at one down it could have all been so different yesterday . Now very harsh of me to pick on that one mistake as other wise he did have a decent game and players do make mistakes but sadly Toto make one or two more or less every game and in the past they have often cost us .

Agree with that.

I thought he was our best defender yesterday, and has all the attributes to be the best defender at the club.

He can be immense in the air, has good pace and isn't too bad on the ball. The thing that has let him down is his decision making, but that hopefully will get better with consistent game time.

I liken the issues that he had last year, a little with Kyle Walker yesterday for England - trying to do too much, to win the shirt.

The rustiness at Portsmouth and Accrington didn't help his cause last season. The empty stadiums may give him that chance this season.

Thought he was excellent yesterday. More the same and he will be like a new signing for us. Keep Hawkins up front, we need options up there.
