Exactly. Nolan, Dozzell, Huws or Ward even (if on the right side) should be gagging to be teed up from there, rather than watch Sears float an uncultured effort 4 yards over the bar. Even if it's on target the keeper catches that all day. | |

I'm not sure it's even so much down to the kick taker as much as a lack of creativity and/or picking the wrong option. When you're that close to goal those floaty kicks are not effective. Just fooking smash it or get creative with it |  |

That would be nice, but I imagine that league one wages, with the salary cap in place, would be quite unappealing for him. If does end up back in L1 it would probably be right at the end of the window if no championship club has come in for him.

Some of our supporters are insufferable. I think the 6 month break had made me forget quite how sensationalist people are at times. Player misses the target with a couple of free kicks and I'm seeing comments like 'never let him take a free kick again'. FFS.
I thought Freddie put in a lot of work yesterday, as did Judge on the other side. Both were very busy, full of running and each made a goal, Sears could've had one himself too on another day from our best move of the day, or put it on a plate for Drinan.
I thought we looked much better going forward, more fluid and much quicker on the ball than had been the case last season, particularly in the middle. Bishop makes a huge difference, carrying the ball and breaking the lines, if he can stay fit he's massive for us. Defensively we looked suspect at times, but important to remember we also had some of our better players out. Ward is a massive step up on Garbutt defensively.
Have to say I thought Wigan were poor. Having said that I also thought Bristol Rovers were poor (they really were) and they drew at Sunderland this weekend. If we keep playing poor sides there has to come a time where we must ask if we've just made them look poor*
*although I really do think we've played 2 sh1te sides. Can only beat whats in front of you though, and by and large at this level there is a lot of sh1te. |  |
