Watch No.10 try and spin this one. Currently trying to say “it is wrong”, not that it didn’t happen

I've found with this lot, if something doesn't add up and there is a clear lie in the narrative from their side, it's usually because it's exactly that.

If Johnson isn't corrupted by Russian money and/or influence, then he's doing a poor job of convincing those researching it otherwise.

You are probably right, but I feel very uncomfortable with speculation and unsubstantiated claims. I'd rather that the lightside stuck to verifiable facts.

The trouble is the story as posted provides nothing to confirm that there is any Russian link. It is all wild speculation.

Yes BJ is dodgy as feck.
Yes the Tories are in hoc to Russian billionaires and we know that paid to the Tory party gives influence.

But this story does not advance the case in any way. Basically it says BJ went to Perugia, we bet he went to see his Russian pal.

Precedent and Occam's Razor. Not definite proof, but highly suggestive (if the story is true).

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Our media has little to no interest in connecting dots that threaten power. But they’ll go into overdrive connecting dots to neutralise those who threaten power.

On a related note, our media’s lack of coverage of the Assange extradition case and its implications re: press freedom is utterly scandalous. Until you realise that they don’t see the freedom to speak truth to power as their job. Quite the opposite.

The Assange stuff is bad. The government have painted him as a pantomime villain.regardless of your opinion on him or his alignments, he is in trouble for telling the truth.

No wonder we’re in such a mess.

The main beef isn’t so much speculative conclusions but the fact we’ve been left to make them due to a lack of transparency and a continual need to lie.

Same way most criminals eventually get caught.

no, he's in trouble for alleged sexual assault.

Don't ever ignore that.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of the assault case, and how dodgy Assange might well be on that score, that isn’t the issue. Nor what’s at stake for our supposedly free press if the US extradition goes ahead.

And the fact he’s been barely in the news at all over the past couple of years is worrying whatever you think about Assange.

The question is more why the need to travel there ?

There are such things as telephones, conference calls etc

The only explanation (if Johnson did go) is that the nature of the conversation was such that, that concerns about 'eavesdropping' would prohibit the use of any electronic communication.

Perhaps Lebedev had new instructions for him about what it is now the matter to 'get it done'.
