Has there ever been a Prime Minister so detached from the job? 12:06 - Sep 21 with 1329 viewsIllinoisblue

All PMs have their faults but Johnson takes it to another level. Appears to have no interest in leading in a time of genuine crisis. Charlatan seems too kind a word for him.

Comparisons to Trump can be a bit off but they're very similar in one sense that they wanted the prestige of being the man in charge without actually having any interest in the nitty gritty of the job. Unfortunately for *everyone*, a crisis like this makes that very evident and puts us in a bad position.

The whole government has been far more concerned with PR and news management than it has been actually sorting things out. It was evident before they were elected they were quite happy to lie and bluster whilst avoiding any real scrutiny, so it's no surprise that they're doing it now they have what they wanted. It's all a big game to them, they don't care what the real world consequences of their (in)actions are, and the people are the ones who suffer.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

But Trump, for all his 8,367 faults, does at least have a presence. Johnson seems to be AWOL 75% of the time.

Staggering how two formerly grown-up countries ended up with these useless sheeite bags in charge.

Johnson is not in charge, though, is he...

The Conservative party appears to have morphed into the Brexit party, MP's have to actively want brexit to be a cabinet member. First ministers in Scotland and Wales are calling for a joined up approach to the virus, but the PM is reluctant to provide the leadership needed for that. The PM is only is interested in brexit and is looking more and more like a Pound land version of Trump.

If only voters had known before they voted that he was a lazy, lying incompetent with a career of failure

Well actually they did

But as that pastor in the US with two private jets knows - tell the stupid what they want to hear, and they will ignore the rest

When Andrew Neil savages him and recounts a story of sacking him, the alarm bells should have rung then.

But get Brexit done was the only thing the masses wanted to hear, and lo and behold, that is turning into a shambles too, especially after we were told about this oven ready deal, was it something J2 put in the oven?

Apparently he is really struggling to live on the £!50k pa salary , and the job prohibits him from doing other paid work. The Telegraph were paying him around £300k pa. Having to maintain all those kids is very expensive.

Given as it never was able to be 'got done' then it should not come as a surprise that it has failed - and that failure is causing more carnage in its wake.

Brexit was projected as nothing more complicated than switching broadband - with the emphasis on supposed benefits.

Only in this case it was to be ones of multiple suppliers each desperate to provide super fast broadband at no charge, with Netflix etc thrown in as well.
The brexit debate was never about what was possible, or even feasible - but the lies the like of Johnson had fed them through the media over the past 40 years or more.

So until a certain section of society are willing (or even able) to engage with this matter on a rational level based on factual evidence, we are always going to have those who can exploit them for their own political and (in many cases) personal gain.

As is now there for all to see (if they choose so).

And he gets his occupancy of the flat in Downing Street taxed as a benefit in kind, the poor dear.

I'm sure Facters will be able to clarify having lived through most of them, but there is a sense it must have been some proper olde worlde toff who just wiped the King's ass who could only challenge him.

At least Thatcher never hid the fact she was evil and wanted to do evil.

It still baffles me that those who voted for Brexit and then for Boris are surprised they got Brexit and Boris. Not the spaff inducing nonsense they told themselves was going to materialise.

There is speculation the party is lining up Patel to replace him when he leaves the job due to “ill health”..........

Probably the first time he's actually paid tax as well.

He was put in place and funded to deliver Brexit; that’s all his backers are after. And I don’t think he’s interested in providing leadership there either. He really is awful.
