This is quite an interesting study from Japan which has found that plastic face shields are practically useless at stopping the spread of C19:

Seems simple masks are the better way to go although usual caveats apply that it's new research and will need to be repeated and verified.

I'm pretty sure there was a study in the last month that showed they could well be detrimental if used alone. Trap the air maybe, so lead to greater exposure if the virus is present? Dunno on the whys. |  |
