And decided that he must never play for the club again then fair play to him ðŸ‘
I'd be happy with the new lad alongside Woolfy, Chambers at RB until KVY is fit and Ward at LB. Sadly this chap is probably because PRP has fallen out with Woolfy again and chucked him on the heap with Donacien and Kenlock
I could accept him or Toto.... on 19:32 - Sep 22 by Mullet
Yeah in the same way Smith worked so well because he complimented what was around him and had a manger who knew how to get that from the whole back line.
Really we could do with that set piece threat to really cement things and at least make it feel like unless Chambers gets a handful of headers this season we've got little else to hurt teams with from corners etc.
....re set pieces.

That is his natural game and much like Berra would do, he'll go safety first which does mean he sometimes looks flustered because he's not catching it cleanly.
But when he's had time he has picked out the odd nice through ball etc. Wilson is very much a solid Radio 2, Chicken Tikka and Top Gear centre half. You're not going to get much else from him.

I wasn't talking tackles or clearances
But even if you're singling him out for passing Andre has put passes out of touch from 5 yards away from the full back or winger more than once this season. It seems overly critical to look at that when essentially we have an issue of a lack of balance and contrast in the backline which is usually at CM.

i know. So many slate him on here, which seems to be based on where he came from rather than what he's actually done on the pitch for us. He's not cultured like Woolfy, but like you say, I can't remember him putting a foot wrong defensively.
He's actually passed it well this season too.
Indeed, solid CB.

I'd love you to point out what they've done wrong in our two games so far, where we haven't conceded.
Come on Dolly, I'm not jumping on the hate for Wilson, he is what he is, a limited stopper that is a useful squad player. But using our 2 games so far, where we have faced almost zero attacking threat, isn't a great defence for Toto and Wilson.
They have done fine in those games, no argument, but put them against teams like Oxford, Sunderland, Peterborough, Portsmouth etc and I fear it would be ugly.

Bit harsh to judge them on things that haven't happened yet.

It should be clear you meant *not* jumping on the hate for Wilson.

Is he? Dubbers is a reasonable sort! I think he's taking what we have seen and learned so far and applying it to what we know will happen in the future.

....the main issue I have with him is that he's essentially a "stopper" and that doesn't appear to be the way Shambert wants to play (this month).
Unfortunately the same can be said for Toto, although I realise he is flavour of the month at the moment.
When we are trying to play it out from the back Wilson and Nsiala really don't look comfortable, this new lad is much more in the footballing centre back mould.
Only my opinion obvs.
In fairness to Toto his distribution has been better than ok from the back so far this season - been comfortable going short and long and recieving the ball.
Wilson, not so much, he's not let us down but like you say is just a stopper. At the end of pre season PL was saying how Wilson hadn't done enough and needed to do a lot more to get into the team, but a space fell into his lap.
Concerns about Woolfie and KVY injuries though being worse than first feared
. Wilson actually does a good job at this level. No nonsense, get the ball in row z. We need players like that. It's better than faffing in defence and ending up conceding. Keep it up Wilson. Good job.

I'll ask again, what has Wilson actually done wrong? Can you offer me anything specific that we've "seen and learned so far" that tells us he's going to have a mare against the better teams?
It appears that Shambert's.... on 09:33 - Sep 23 by BrixtonBlue
And what errors have you seen from Wilson over the last 2 seasons?
Weird stance that buh.
I'll be honest, I don't catalogue our games and incidents within them, sorry. But I've seen enough of Wilson to know that his limitations, his lack of mobility and his lack of comfort on the ball will become a problem if we have serious aspirations of being at the top of this division.
He is fine as a squad player and I'm happy to have him here, but if him and Toto are first choice for the season then we will not be at the top end of the table.
