Seeing as we are approaching the presidential debates, and with the actual election being only 42 days away, maybe we could keep this as a US election megathread for those on here who are interested? One location for all the discussion would prevent multiple threads clogging up the board for those who don't care to get involved?
Personally, the reality of having to experience this election in the near future is stressful AF so if anyone else wants to get stressed together... Jump on board.
Now, insert all the usual caveats about polling here but...it's looking positive that we will be rid of Trump come 2021, much to the disappointment of a couple of posters on here. 538 are well respected in the field of poll analysis so what they announce should be taken seriously.
Of course their analysis doesn't take account of any election fraud, Russian interference, voter suppression etc. But it's positive news none the less. Once Trump is gone, we can work on Johnson. Decent people of the world... Unite!

That people of Hispanic origin in Florida are voting for Trump when he has accused them of being criminals and rapists and has gleefully broken up thousands of families in similar circumstances to their own is massively depressing. It is very important to not on a social level, the Cuban, Puerto Rican and Mexican communities don't particularly like one another (at least what I learnt when working in Florida and Kansas) So, I am not shocked at all to see the Cuban community support Trump on his stance on the central american border. | |

It's mental though, isn't it? The Democrats are essentially moderate Tories. They are centre right liberals. They aren't anywhere close to being socialists let alone full blown communists. Meanwhile, Trump is on record spewing bile about Hispanic immigrants. The world is fooked. I will bet you my last Rolo that PA is going blue. Only 50% of ballots counted in Allegheny Co (Pittsburgh), and Philadelphia Co (Philadelphia) - And those are huge leans to Biden in person, and will be extremely bolstered by mail ins. (0.9% Swing to Biden in the counted votes so far. 1% in Michigan and 1.1% in Wisconsen.)

Grimly predictable though. Someone (Spruce or Elder?) was saying the other day that they expected Trump to claim he'd won on the votes counted from polling day and to use the Supreme Court to try and stop the remaining votes being counted. | |

Was always his plan and one that plays well to his base who will then day only turning up on the day should count.
I was depressed to wake up and see it was even close enough for him to do this.

Indeed. It’s an attempt to steal the ejection by Trump. And you would hope that the GOP elder statesmen would not stand for it.
But the Dems should have picked a dynamic candidate who could have ran an exciting campaign. Instead they picked an old man who was pretty much kept out of sight in the hope he wouldn’t make any gaffs.

He's ahead on the counting on other states because a lot of postal votes haven't been counted yet. He would win those states if those votes aren't counted.
