US election megathread 03:24 - Sep 23 with 162956 views | SpruceMoose | Seeing as we are approaching the presidential debates, and with the actual election being only 42 days away, maybe we could keep this as a US election megathread for those on here who are interested? One location for all the discussion would prevent multiple threads clogging up the board for those who don't care to get involved? Personally, the reality of having to experience this election in the near future is stressful AF so if anyone else wants to get stressed together... Jump on board. Now, insert all the usual caveats about polling here but...it's looking positive that we will be rid of Trump come 2021, much to the disappointment of a couple of posters on here. 538 are well respected in the field of poll analysis so what they announce should be taken seriously. Of course their analysis doesn't take account of any election fraud, Russian interference, voter suppression etc. But it's positive news none the less. Once Trump is gone, we can work on Johnson. Decent people of the world... Unite! https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2020-election-forecast/ [Post edited 23 Sep 2020 3:32]

Well I might be wrong but I have a feeling that if he get in, he'd gradually let Harris do more & more over time, whilst quietly slipping further and further into the background himself - not officially retire, but get her ready for 4 years' time. She's obviously relatively young, has the capacity to enthuse and come up with good ideas.

US election megathread on 19:43 - Nov 4 with 906 views | yorkshire | To be honest it looks like baring some craziness out of Nevarda then Biden has this - but the bigger picture is that they have actually lost seats in the house and won’t have control over the Senate so it will be much the same as the last years of the Obama Presidency where congress can stifle any major policy changes that Biden / Harris want to bring in Depending on how much the Trump administration scorch the earth behind them, the Dems may even struggle to get people appointed into the correct roles in which to do anything I am still pretty sad that nearly half those that voted still saw Trump / Republicans as people that would help them !

Indeed. That is all being lost in this main battle noise. Biden/Harris will be fairly impotent until the mid-terms

Grizz, what is your most educated geuss for Georgia? Do you think if they win, additional to the current projected wins, Trump will bother going ham with litigation or see it as folly?

The BBC (News 24) are doing a great job at staying within neutrality rules whilst making it clear that Trump is a scumbag.

WTF? I bet they don't outline how the least protectionist party with a history of working more closely with us would somehow be worse.
