Seeing as we are approaching the presidential debates, and with the actual election being only 42 days away, maybe we could keep this as a US election megathread for those on here who are interested? One location for all the discussion would prevent multiple threads clogging up the board for those who don't care to get involved?
Personally, the reality of having to experience this election in the near future is stressful AF so if anyone else wants to get stressed together... Jump on board.
Now, insert all the usual caveats about polling here but...it's looking positive that we will be rid of Trump come 2021, much to the disappointment of a couple of posters on here. 538 are well respected in the field of poll analysis so what they announce should be taken seriously.
Of course their analysis doesn't take account of any election fraud, Russian interference, voter suppression etc. But it's positive news none the less. Once Trump is gone, we can work on Johnson. Decent people of the world... Unite!

What is going on in NV... why are they cork blocking us D:
Some bloke working for USPS is currently on his way across the desert on a burro with a sack of votes from Area 51.
Bloody aliens, getting to vote in our elections.

Can I ask why is it taking so long to finish the counts in the States outstanding?
Some has been on 99% all day now?
Mail in ballots have 2 envelopes to open and assessed - So, while it seems minor, over many many votes it mounts up. I also believe that vote counters are usually plentiful in number on the first day, they go down on the subsequent days.

Nevada aren't counting 24 hours a day. No idea why. Just doing a leisurely part time of it I guess.
Every state has different rules, and some places postal votes aren't counted or even prepared for counting until after the polls closed. Some places use machines, some places use manual counting.
But to still be hanging on now, with Nevada saying they should have a count completed by next week, is absurd. The total population of Nevada is only 3 million ffs.

Is that what they've said?
Was the election sprung on them as a surprise then?

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, including vote counts apparently.

I think Nevada has some really suirley unions and employment rules. I am sure the Secretary of State never imagined the world would ever be looking at Nevada for the decisive call.

Some states allow ballots postmarked on election day to arrive as late as Friday. That means they won't finish counting until then. The Republican State Legislature in Pennsylvania passed a law to say mail-in ballots cannot start to be counted until after the polling booths close. That's the same Republican party led by Trump who wants the counting stopped in Pennsylvania.
Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

Thing is the longer it takes it plays into the conspiracy theories that corruption is going on.
If it goes into next week, then it will just embolden Trump.

This kind of thing is an absolute disgrace as it can very easily lead to someone getting killed.
The sooner these trashy creatures are sent packing to jail or to grift on RT.com the better.
What's more likely at this point? Trump conceding peacefully or Trump declaring nuclear war on Pennsylvania and Georgia?

He’s about to speak I think, apparently a number of people are trying to dissuade him, not going to be pretty.
Things I'd love to see but won't happen #1:

Trump talking rubbish in a statement right now.
SB
The worst thing for him is this:
It's dull.
It's boring to listen to.
We knew he'd lie but it's not even a spectacle.
He sounds like the old piss head you can see coming down the aisle of the night bus muttering to himself who you desperately hope doesn't sit next to you.
Honestly, the TV networks should just cut away from this crap and not give him a platform.

It's just utter drivel.
Apparently the advisors didn't want him to speak but he's gone all in with the accusations now. It must mean they are certain he's lost because this is all-in.
It's dull and rambling but it's still getting the message out he wants to his supporters.
Unfortunately I don't think the networks have ever cut off a sitting president mid-speech.
