I do not believe Biden is going to be the architect of a socialist revolution. What I do believe is that Trump losing the election will give momentum to those fighting for a socialist revolution. As if we haven't got enough on our hands with Brexit and not being able to go to the pub properly. Still I guess that there are worse former colonies we could get saddled with... | |

I suspect that some of those with guns are just 'w1lly waving'.
In modern times those wearing uniforms are just targets for civilians with a gun. The military uniform could be these guys downfall if their group is suspected of shooting and killing someone because they're easily identifiable.
'Male wearing a T-shirt' is not a helpful description for law enforcement.
If they're wearing uniforms they might have a leader + a chain of command which says they won't go Mad Max without reason.

The Civil War of the 1860s was only possible because each state had its own military/militia which could be mobilised as a framework for recruiting and deployment. As entire states were seceding from the Union, they were able to make use of this framework and the North similarly to oppose them. Also having the financial structures to fund their operation and the agricultural/manufacturing base to keep up supplies of food and ammunition.
There was also loyalty to the home State which was a driver for recruitment, far more than commitment to an ideology. People are prepared to die defending their homes, will they be so keen to sacrifice them for Trump?
In my view, violent unrest will be limited to incidents like Ruby Ridge, the Waco Siege and possibly the Oklahoma City Bombing. Equally, it could be largely defused like the Malheur Wildlife Refuge standoff in 2016. |  |
