Agree. Seems to get the best out of his players in every club he has been.

And to think he was interviewed here and we gave Hurst the job instead.

To be fair, at the time the fans seemed to be backing Hurst or Ross for the job.

I don't recall too much noise from the fans for Potter, there was more noise about the random Dutch fella.

Lots on here were bigging Potter up, but most assumed he was out of our reach due to his European exploits with the Swedish team (can't remember the name!).

From my vast and extensive knowledge of obscure football fact (otherwise called Wiki) it was Östersund

I dont remember there being a majority of fans wanting Hurst, and there were several people many would favoured.

Ross seemed to be the popular choice with Hurst being the "oh well at least its sorted' option

I have to say, he did a better job of holding himself together than I would if I was being interviewed minutes after my team lost a match to a goal scored after the final whistle had been blown.

Was it established that that is an actual rule in games where VAR is being used?

I was always for Ross, but was not unhappy that Hurst was appointed. Remember thinking that Potter was worth a punt but assumed he wouldn't be interested in swapping what he had in Sweden with us.

Are people with the surname Potter still called 'Pansy'? We had one at school, along with the compulsory Smudger, Dusty and Chalkie but I suppose that's getting on for 50 years ago.

If the incident is before the final whistle and VAR is in use then there is no logical reason for it not to be used for it. I don't like VAR but this is an appropriate use of the technology if it has to be used. It was an utterly stupid handball from Maupay too.

I couldn't make out whether the ball actually touched Maupay's arm though, there didn't seem to be any change of direction and none of the replays went in close enough or from a suitable angle for me to be able to discern physical contact. I guess that the Brighton players did not seem to contest the decision much and they were actually there says something but have we all got a bit 'computer says no'?
