I can personally vouch for Montaz in Newmarket. I've never had a bad meal in there and I've been dozens of times and sampled the majority of the menu.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Shameful that there's no mention of the actually award-winning Melford(and Ballingdon) Valley.

Great curry house I can't believe it's not on the list either.

Just don't go there on a Thursday or a Saturday, the service can be a little...erratic when they're busy.

Agree. Cracking curry but I've experienced erratic service too. It's not that big but if there is more than 10 people it seems to be chaos.

Sorry, best is The Mogul in Manningtree. So good that it even makes a "best Suffolk curry places" list despite being in Essex.

Tel's second favourite Indian restaurant. And considering his first gives him free food and he knows the owner from the mid 80's, that's some going.

I'm not, the last time 10 of us went in, we all ordered 10 different dishes and they all tasted exactly the same. Thought it was well below par.

For me, shouts to Ghandi and Zaika in Ipswich, Shapla in Woodbridge and my all time favourite the Bombay Nite in Walton.

Something I look for too. Currys should be obviously different, I have been to lots of places where it is clearly the same base sauce with different spice levels or veg added.

Fair comment, but I am more concerned that you try a bit of everyone's curry!

I am very much a man who protects what I order from others haha!

Think of me like Smithy from Gavin and Stacey, hands off my Bhunas!

Mrs B has been to Montaz Newmarket many times and loves it, I personally do not like curry in general so do not go.

I haven't tried all those listed, but if any are better than Zaynab then they will be very, very good indeed.

Have to say, myself and Mrs Badger did the Christmas dinner there last year and they were terrific. Possibly because it was mainly carvery-type service so they could manage bigger numbers better than they usually do as they were only really doing drinks and starters/desserts as table service.
