WiFi booster/extender 11:44 - Oct 9 with 1347 views | yesjohn99 | Can anyone recommend a WiFi booster/extender? Seems to be 100’s on the market but all seem to have very mixed reviews. Would need to be compatible with sky broadband.

Yes, I have the Eero and it's been excellent thus far. SB

Exactly this. I wanted loads on different extenders but they are terrible. I moved to BT Halo (as it is called now) and it is brilliant, it is exactly what you want from your wifi, extenders are not

It's very easy. Just plug one into your router and then follow the instructions in the app you download. Then you can just add others in the app in other rooms. SB

WiFi booster/extender on 12:48 - Oct 9 with 1267 views | DanTheMan | As others have said, either a mesh network or even just a decent router will vastly improve what you currently have. The routers ISPs given you are utter garbage, I would imagine so they can sell you the extenders. I remember having a funny conversation with a Virgin Media technical support person one time where they said the router doesn't work as well if there are walls inbetween my device and router. I'm not sure how they wanted to me remedy this situation.

WiFi booster/extender on 13:00 - Oct 9 with 1245 views | sotd78 | I'm not technically expert but recent advice from some good sources have said these things: wi-fi boosters like Devolo don't work unless the plug-ins are on a ring on your mains - the signal goes through the wiring - so they are no use off a spur like my office/garage conversion. Walls kill wi-fi Hard wire from the router if you want a better connection. Put the router up off the ground and don't hide it behind the telly (for example) After three complaints Virgin put in a free booster. Some days the signal is great; others it is dodgy.

WiFi booster/extender on 13:08 - Oct 9 with 1239 views | BloomBlue | Remember WiFi is only as fast as the slowest device in the flow. I've seen a lot of people moan about reliability then spend a £200+ on a mesh and no improvement, why because they're using an old laptop with a old version of a wifi device and the reliability isn't going to improve unless they replace that So make sure you check all your devices in the flow before buying a mesh A mesh is an extender but also repairs the signal which is great if there are a lot of people in the property using wifi or in a small office but can be a bit of overkill if it's just you. A few people on this thread have already mentioned the TP-link range of extenders and I can recommend the TP-link RE200

Yep, I have a similar system, from my wifi provider, and it's excellent. No initial outlay but about a fiver a month for the rental. [Post edited 9 Oct 2020 13:43]

i want one to boost down to the summer house at the bottom of 'Ftnf Paddocks'. The router (sky broadband again) is at the front of the house, does reach the back where i work but no further. The summer house is about another 70-80 feet away i guess. So if i plug one of these in at the back of the house to reach it, would that work or do i need to look at the mesh system others are mentioning?
