We can pay him what we want because he’s classed as an under 21 isn’t he? May be an issue next year if we don’t go up though.

No - you can pay players what you want as long as the total wage bill isn't over £2.5m a year.

There is also some clause around renewing players contracts that are under the age of 23 I believe. But I am sure someone on here knows more than I do.
