So, I see that Cancel Culture has struck again on TWTD. 13:59 - Oct 11 with 6388 viewsBlueBadger

It was clearly all jokes, if you look at the full context of it..

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

I saw him say he hated all Muslims but not sure what happened after that, not that anything else really needed to happen after a statement like that.

He said they all 'offended him' which i think was a wider point about religion but as usual, was poorly worder.

There was an excellent [post on there by M14 which is a shame to lose, about how Hampstead clearly wasn't a bad bloke, but one who had basically become radicalised by what was there, I'm sure in 'real life' you could talk to him and he'd be fine, similar has happened to other posters on here, and on social media which i won't do the disservice of naming.

It's no surprise when the Govt has relied on cultrure wars to win referendums and elections and have driven the wedge rather than trying to bring people togethe

Indeed, I believe several posters met Benters and found him to be a decent chap.

He definitely said "hated" but as you say, probably just poorly worded.

The rest is spot on and highlights how social media is ruining society. They need to come up with a way of stopping fake news and forcing people to behave on social media as they would face to face but I have no idea how that could ever be achieved. I doubt they are even that interested in achieving it as it would lower their user base.

I didn't hang about in the thread, but it was initially that 'all Muslims offend him', he may have doubled down later on.

I'm glad my parents aren't on social media, discussing this sort of thing with them is bad enough without them having their heads filled with fake news

I've just learnt to just never talk about anything even slightly related to politics, or to just nod my head and agree with the non-controversial stuff as I just can't be arsed. Not worth fighting about.

The one time I have had a full on argument with my parents was over Brexit, and I don't wish to repeat it. Although amusingly apparently they thought I was some ardent Corbyn supporter based on that, according to my sister.

You are assuming that he actually has kids. I would suggest he is a sad little man living at home with Mummy and Daddy without a friend in the world.

That’s be a surprise for an Internet forum.

Just explain to them that JC was anti-EU.
