Half-time instructions must have been good though, in fairness to him, we looked a different side. Also it must have been tempting to stick Simpson on through the middle at half time, but suspect it would've just encouraged us to start knocking it long. But telling the midfield/defence they just had to suck it up and play through them on the deck, despite the pressing, was probably a better idea.

I’ve noticed lots of managers try different things - plenty of them in the prem as well. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Sign of a good manger is to change it when it doesn’t.
