Obvious jokes aside, is interesting to see how much more positive in their passing attempts that Dozzell and Edwards are than the other players in that attacking six.

Edwards completed 5 forward passes 3 of which were about 3 yards and 2 were in his own half

Guess what? I have never denied that he had scored 5 goals for us

Many have denied my view that he gives it away a lot though

I'll not deny the fact but until him "giving it away" translates to the opposition scoring I'm quite happy having the top scorer in the league representing the team I support

I’m sure you forget we are a League 1 side with League 1 footballers. He’s playing well at this level right now, get off the lads back.

They can’t all be on your technical level.

Is there a significant difference. If you have a positive effect on the game surely that is deemed as good?

Someone round here says judging footballers on stats is embarrassing.

Agreed it is but I told you that he gave it away a lot and contributed little. It is what I watch and judged and this simply just confirms it. I am not basing my opinion on it

And do you think that contribution there is worthy of man of the match or have people got that wrong?

The contribution shows he is in the side for the goals alone. I have been consistent in saying while he is scoring and being effective in that way we can carry him. This backs it up completely

My view being if he continues scoring and his "deficiencies" are not detrimental to the team in terms of conceding goals then he stays .

I think you're a little short sighted in your view of ONE player. Every player ,whoever starts has deficiencies regardless. The best in the world have areas they can get better. Messi's right foot...shocking !!! Not as good as yours I admit but come on....give the lad a break

Top scorer ..shooting accuracy 100%

So he runs with the ball rather than passing it?

Runs where? How many shots did he have apart from the goal? I have asked for a dribbles completed though. 2 of which were dribbled straight off the pitch with the 1st touch
Dribbles have to lead to passes or shots of significant territory gain without turning over possession.

A player that gives it away 50% off the time is definitely detrimental. Thankfully we are ably carrying that at the moment

Creative players who try stuff are always going to give the ball away more.

I was very clear but it is obviously difficult for you. A players ability should not be based simply on stats, it should bebbased on how they play. This is basing it on how he plays and backing it up with stats.

Please do tell me how it should be done if it shouldn't be that way but however you slice it, it doesn't look pretty and backs me up

Do you believe that he is out creative player trying stuff or are you just setting out to oppose what is presented regardless?

Are judge and sears not creative? Or Bishop or dozzell?

It would also depend where he gives it away and how . If it's in the attacking third and the "giving it away" is an attempted through ball then no big deal. If he's giving it away outside our 12 yard box , then I'd worry

I don't believe he is a particularly efficient player in possession per se, no. But I do believe he is a winger who wants to try stuff and will be looser than players in other positions at times, which explains a bit of it. Above all of that I don't really understand what you are trying to prove.

Edit having seen yours — Dozzell's role is entirely different. If you want to compare our winger's possession stats to those of our deep-lying playmaker to make a point then please go ahead but it won't be an honest effort from you.

Interesting that Judge and Kenlock were the only players to complete more than one pass into the box.
