Brenner commentary question 13:42 - Oct 20 with 919 viewsIllinoisblue

When was Brenner’s first ITFC commentary? Must be almost a decade ago as he was doing our 6-0 win at Doncaster in 2011.

And did Brenner take over from Terry Baxter?

A lot longer ago than that wasn't it, I'm pretty sure he was doing games by 2004/5 at latest?

I think it's longer back than that - probably about 2008

No idea when his first game was but yeah I think he took over from TB.

I still think of him as the new guy, which is insane when you think it’s been over a decade! TB was the voice of my childhood and nobody else will ever be quite right - sorry Brenner.

As I’m trying this I’m realising that I’ve always felt a bit abandoned by TB. Why did he stop commentating?

Came in 2003/04 to replace Bryan Knights having stood in whilst BK was ill previously

Edit: Suffolk lost rights for 2008/09 season to heart before getting them back for 2009/10

Mills Out 23rd May 2003 12:22
Former Town captain Mick Mills has left his job as summariser on Radio Suffolk. Mills spent last season as sidekick to Bryan Knights who commentated on all the Blues' games. 0

Always liked Baxter and Bracey. They had good chemistry. Didn’t Baxter go work for the mayor or council in some communications role?

Baxter went on to work for itfc initially, that's why he left Suffolk,

Fond memories of bumping into him and the Beat on our European Tour.....

Could be wrong but I'm thinking it was the 2-0 defeat at Bradford 1st Feb 2003. He certainly commentated on the Sheffield United comeback victory a week later.

Ah, the Tom Hark game. What a match that was. 2-0 down, 10 men and still fooked the blades. Great day.
