Well, if you voted for a bunch of failed journalists to run the country.... 08:32 - Oct 31 with 3085 viewsMaySixth

This is what you get

A world class track and trace system
Ignoring the scientific advice
Poverty related deaths escalating and no inclination to feed hungry kids

Still, at least grouse hunting hasn’t stopped

People come on the section to escape the constant bombardment of politics and Covid.

If you have no regard for people's mental health then shame on you.

You missed the bit about having a PM that frequently goes missing, made more obvious and strange at the moment with an alarming rise in infections and death rate. At a time Boris should be leading the UK (not just England) he does another one of his frequent disappearing acts from public view. Never mind pubs are open that's all that seems to matter these days.

You mean like Germany then that has a state of the art track and trace in place and has had mandatory mask wearing since April and off they now go into a month long lockdown.

Track and trace and mandatory mask wearing since April has done them the world of good hasn't it?

...that they're discontinuing in the face of an ever-likely second lockdown and applying very strict and specific conditions to in the first place.

How's that patent leather tasting there?

Less than 25% of the deaths than the UK, perhaps tells a more important story you muppet.

Oh and what is it that Boris will announce on Monday, about 6 weeks later than he should have?

What with Germany’s numbers being dramatically less than ours, yes it has done them good.

They have basically done everything down to a tee with mandatory mask wearing since April yet are still now going into a month long lockdown.

Masks don't work then?

But it wasnt supposed to be like this. Playing on his lawn as an 8 year old he just wanted to be Winston Churchill he didn't think it would need him to take difficult decisions. He doesnt do difficult decisions.

You forgot to mention the unimportant point of fatality numbers between the 2 countries. Last time I checked Germany's were considerably lower than ours.

Well it certainly seems that they believe that but mandatory mask wearing since April in Germany has clearly not been effective in stemming the exponential rise in infections as we can all now see.

The best track and trace is in countries like South Korea but it works well there because they have a law during pandemics which temporarily stops data privacy laws. They discovered during SARS data privacy puts barriers up to track and trace that's what European countries need to do.

One of the lowest infection rates in Europe would suggest they’ve been more effective than the majority so far?

So with mandatory mask wearing since April yet they still now find themselves heading into a month long lockdown.

"Germany has seen the biggest rise in new daily cases of coronavirus since April, a surge that health minister Jens Spahn described as “alarming”."

"COVID-19: Germany sees 6-month record in daily infections"

Was about 6 months ago that mask wearing was made mandatory and as we can see it has clearly not been effective in stemming the exponential rise in infections.
