What is worse? 08:18 - Nov 4 with 3562 viewsBluefish

PRP losing yet again to a top 10 side or Leadboots scoring the winner?

Poll: Who has performed the worst but oddly loved the most?

....if we'd scored them both we still wouldn't have won.

I'd hardly say we "bossed it".

I guess we'll see how it all turns out at the end of the season, but my view hasn't changed and from what I can see this is just a mirror image of last season but with more passing it around between defenders.

Rock n roll.

Not exactly a mirror image of last season yet because last season after 11 League games we had got 5 more points than we have at the moment and we were unbeaten in the League but have lost 3 this season.

I do not know if it is factually correct but I got the impression that in all probability Toto got more touches on the ball than any other of our players. IF one of your central defenders gets most touches the assumption would normally be that you got battered but no, in this case it was because we chose to keep passing to a defender. Good job Nolan was not playing otherwise Toto would have received even more passes.

We would have had more shots if...the trouble is there always seems to be a ‘would have’ aspect to PL tenure as manage. There is very rarely a definitive argument of dominant performances matching with three points.

There is always an excuse that PL unearths to justify poor performance.

Which doesn't apply in last night's case.

There were excuses last night - granted not even excuses more reasonings - but like a school kid who always has an excuse for not doing their homework, sometimes one valid excuse simply gets lost in a sea of overflowing rubbish.

PL will always be able to conjure up an excuse or behave in a way that will deflect attention from defeat. For example get himself sent-off.

You can give someone chance after chance but sooner or later any lame logic just becomes noise.

Every manager spouts nonsense to make themselves look better - just look at the Sunderland manager saying he thought the decisions were right. Meanwhile Sunderland fans are calling the ref the MOTM!

I don't for a moment think Lambert got himself sent off to deflect attention from defeat. For one, it didn't work, and for two, I think he's just an angry Glaswegian!

Agree with your point regarding managers talking nonsense - that’s just football. And you are also right in stating that PL can simply be a very very angry Glaswegian.

However, regardless of very dodgy penalties and referee decisions- PL will always come short of what he should be achieving (and what he should have achieved) considering what resources he has had available to him.

I dunno, up to 25-30 mins I'd have agreed with you, but after that I was quite buoyed by the performance against one of the better teams. I can definitely see improvements on last season overall, but time will tell how sustainable it is.

We've had a horrendous amount of injuries as well, don't forget. Especially in that centre forward role.

Yeah but we would've had more shots if we hadn't been reduced to 10 men. Not only do I stand by my bossed it comment, we even looked the better team with 10 men. I can't remember a time that's ever been the case with ITFC.

Being a bit unfortunate (on this occasion)?

I'm not really sure what your point is. The ref clearly cost us this game, even the Sunderland supporters are acknowledging it.

Fairly straightforward point, really. We've been losing tight games to promotion rivals for a year and a bit now, we need to stop doing it.

This game has nothing to do with that though. The ref cost us this game, regardless of if it was a promotion rival or not. You've removed all context to make a point that has no relevance.

The last 18 months is the context that makes it relevant. Yes, we were unlucky to lose last night. We were unlucky not to get at least at point at Lincoln. Unlucky not to beat Wycombe at Portman Road last year. Unlucky not to be winning at half time at Sunderland last year and unlucky not to be out of sight at half time in the reverse fixture.
