The single most important part of playing midfield, especially when you're trying to play out from the back as you've got to get the ball off the defence and to the strikers.

Yet again too much passing across our back line without going anywhere and the movement off the ball is a big part of this.
However, with 9 changes it is not top much of a surprise we are playing like a bunch of strangers.
Portsmouth appear to be treating this as a light training session and happy to take as many goals as we want to gift them. |  |

I actually disagree there, McGavin and Nolan have played some pretty nice balls occaisionally, but the fact is they're not showing for the ball enough and therefore aren't getting it as much as they should.
I'm a big advocate for playing it out from the back, but if the midfielders don't bother to collect the ball it just gets passed around the back and eventually lumped forwards. | |

If Dozzers and/or Bish are not in the team we are ponderous and obvious.
Lambert is intractable and has no fluid tactical plan. He's really not a very good manager or what we need to move forward. |  |
