The standard of officiating 17:34 - Nov 7 with 2423 views | Herbivore | The absolute state of it. That goal was miles offside, he was goal side of even the keeper ffs. That's three very straightforward big decisions that they've got wrong. Clear penalty not given, clear red card that wasn't even a booking, and a goal from about three kilometres offside that somehow is allowed to stand. None of them were hard to spot, they were all such easy and obvious decisions and yet none of them has been given correctly. Really poor.

Agreed. VAR has its issues but when you've got officials making such clear and obvious errors, all negatively impacting one side, then you have to do something.

I missed Tuesday so only saw the highlights, thankfully my blood pressure is just about okay. Something has to be done though. This has been as bad as Wycombe at home last season. Genuinely feels like there's a conspiracy to stitch us up.

As we've seen it solves some problems and creates far more.

The standard of officiating on 17:45 - Nov 7 with 2204 views | Matt_Netherlands | Horrendous officiating. Some of the other things he let go (for and against us) were pretty bad too. Not sure how that changes though as it’s just the standard of officials at this level. As the EADT said during the week, unfortunately the best way to get rid of this awful officiating is to get out of this division pronto!
The standard of officiating on 17:46 - Nov 7 with 2194 views | Durovigutum | Offside - I can only assume that the line isn't capable of considering anything beyond the immediate next touch as he became active as he put the ball away. This is why he is a league one line however. Red was more of a red than Dozzell on Tuesday, but in the context of the game again I'm not surprised. Penalty was a penalty. That all said, if you aren't an FA registered referee and don't turn out to officiate games yourself to realise how hard it is then I'd argue we put up and shut up.

Didn’t want a cup run this year, went about as well as it could’ve done in that respect. 9 changes and took a full strength rival the distance and put 120 mins into their legs. Only managed to beat us due to a dreadful piece of officiating, after a very slow start.

But VAR has shown just how ridiculous things get though. I'd rather stick with poor human decisions than VAR.

He was offside every time the ball was touched in the build up, including from the final touch. It was such a clear and easy decision. There's no excusing that kind of error. For me the challenge was a textbook red. He lunged in with studs up and his foot was off the ground. It was dangerous, those challenges can snap a leg very easily. The penalty was also clear as day, it wasn't a subtle little tug of the shirt. That's the frustration, it's not that they got things wrong it's that all three big decisions were clear and obvious even on first viewing. It's inexcusable.

I think the issue with VaR at the moment is the poor human decision making that underlines it. So the solution should be to improve the way VaR is used (i.e. use it to correct clear and obvious errors rather than micromanage every decision down to the last mm)
The standard of officiating on 18:02 - Nov 7 with 2039 views | management | As Paul lambert seems to have weekly conversations with the head of referees, suggest this gentleman refs our games as frankly it is disgraceful this season, the abject level of officiating as for the Linesman, you only have one job to do and that is offsides, useless.

well yes but youve seen the VAR example floating around today, it called a player off side because he was pointing to where he wanted the ball played and his arm+ hand then counted as offside as he was running in line with the defenders. which is what makes VAR look stupid.

The standard of officiating on 20:14 - Nov 7 with 1669 views | midastouch | We've all heard the old football adage about how bad decisions are meant to level out over the course of a season.  Well it sure doesn't feel like it being a Town supporter!  Portman Road seems to have been airbrushed off Lady Luck's map!  Yet somehow she seems to regularly put in an appearance in the dying minutes of games at Carrot Road! When are we finally going to be extended some long overdue mercy? Fair play is all we ask!

For the goal, I can only imagine they did not realise he kicked the ball. I don't even know why he did as the ball was going in anyway wasn't it? As for the other things I have no explanation. They remind me of a comment Frank Brogan is reported as saying in a lower level match after he had finished playing professionally. After criticising the ref for a decision the referee said to him "what did you say?" Brogan's response was reported as "deaf as well as blind then are you?"

If they didn't see him knock the ball in then that's probably even worse. It was just bizarre.
