Rightly or wrongly, Lambert is a long, long way from getting sacked by Evans 18:41 - Nov 7 with 1828 viewstownblue

I would say there has been enough of an improvement so far to warrant more time and Evans is far more forgiving than me.

Blimey, this is a whole new level of 'easily pleased' right here.

I disagree on the improvement. I agree on him getting more time, sadly.

Wrongly. What improvement have you seen that most of the rest of us seem to have missed?

I don’t think he’ll get sacked imminently, but if we continue to fail against the better sides then that might force ME’s hand, ultimately the outcomes of those games will define our season. I suppose it all comes down to ME’s ambition, does he want us back in the Championship where he’d need to invest heavily to make us even competitive?

some semblance of a passing game?

I'd agree it's probably too early to judge and we may be moderately better than last season

I think the bigger problem is there are a few better teams to compete with this season and even a playoff place would still probably be a good result

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

I'm not saying it's a massive improvement but we've been playing some football and playing our good young players. We're second in the league with some unlucky results/decisions. Unlucky with decisions again today.

Personally would play far more direct but can see some progress.

I think he's proved many times he wouldn't act until we are way, way out of contention. We are second.

Yeah, agreed. Evans doesn't rush into a decision so for people to think Lambert is anywhere near being sacked are delusional.

The problem is Evans should have wielded the axe last Christmas; not give a five year contract.

We're not a long way from where we need to be. The quality and depth of our squad is plenty good enough to get out of this league and any failure to do so is a failure of management.

True. But I think last season we really we're getting away with it, whereas I think we've looked decent in some games this season and deserved results.

'Decent in some games' will not be enough.

And shouldn't be taken as improvement enough to keep him on.

We are second but on ppg we would be 5th and that only on goal difference. We have not played anything more than our fair share of top 8 sides either.

I mean you'd like to think ME will sit there and go -

"right so if we don't make the top two that means we are in the playoffs, to play two teams of similar quality to gain prmotion, and need to get results in 3 out of 3 games..... we've failed to beat a top side in two years..... reckon he might fck up in the playoffs too based on these facts"

We’ll be good again... one day

That is very true, but there are a couple of teams behind us with a game in hand currently, who could go above us with a win and I’d also argue we’ve only played Lincoln, Doncaster and Sunderland so far from the top sides, we’ve still got another 4 or 5 to play. Plymouth are looking potential dark horses.

Maybe, but I don't think the position is fighting to keep his job currently, so a sacking is a long way off.

Realistically I think he'll probably have the season.
