because Hawkins made the first foul.

If the ref saw Hwakins make a foul then he was even worse than I first thought.

Wasn’t that same excuse the ref gave away at Oxford last season when Norwood was assaulted in the penalty area! If that was the case why didn’t he blow for the foul!!

It does seem like a convenient excuse for refs who miss clear penalties. Though it does help if there is even a hint of foul play. In Hawkins case at least it is clear as day that he didn't foul the defender.

Watching the highlights back, I suspect all three officials will be demoted for a week because there are some absolutely shocking mistakes in there. Compounded by the fact that that we’ve conceded penalties and had players sent off for less in recent weeks.

If McGuinness had rolled around like that fking gormless dwarf Leadbitter he might have got M’nogo sent off - although I suspect that the ref being the prick that he was would have carded him for simulation.

And it is claimed elsewhere that he thought their third, which was clearly offside, was put in by McGuinness!
Their incompetence knows no bounds it seems...
