‘Tried his best and was frustrated by the establishment’......which is a message that I imagine suits them just fine. I think even Boris might have foreseen that breaking the law would not be something the Lords would rush to endorse.

The whole thing is extremely tedious. Both sides will compromise, but we have to listen to endless posturing in the meantime.

BJ obviously left it to the Lords to do the right thing which in itself is a very damning indictment of his leadership.
