Dozzell's winner v Blackburn..... on 17:42 - Nov 10 by Bloots
....promotion year.
"Big spending Blackburn" we red hot favourites for promotion, it was a cold December night, late late winner. It was the first time I really thought we could get into The Premier League.
My mate sitting next to me cried.
TWTD.
That was my first ever game, a Xmas present as a 6 year old

Isn't that an unusually large amount of 'pitch' behind the goal at the North Stand end? Presumably it was like that all season, but I don't remember ever seeing so much grass behind either goal.

Not many will remember this one, but my favourite goal was on the night David Gregory got a hat-trick against (was it Watford?) in the Full Members/Simod Cup. Ian Redford got the other one meeting a cross with a jumping, powerful header on the run from what seemed like the edge of the area. I'd never seen anything like it.
He is sorely missed.

What's the favourite ever Ipswich goal you've witnessed and why? (n/t) on 14:33 - Nov 11 with 1109 views
Surprised it hasn't even been mentioned....perhaps it was not just the goal itself (although amazing) but as aluded to in th OP and by the many replies there are other reasons why certain goals apart from their quality stick there as your fave.
The only place I found it and it's handily in the first few seconds of the video .... Johnny Wark, thanks for making me love ITFC more than I should ;-)

Great day out, three of us in the Southend stand going mental. They were good as gold to us tbh. TWTD.
When they invaded the pitch at the end to protest about their chairman and we start singing "Jobson for narwich" and they applauded us and it became a big love-in. That was the day I knew we were going to do it.

The back story:
Minute's Applause Tribute to Fan20th Apr 2015 14:42 The friends of Town supporter Chris Reynolds, who died aged 21 at the weekend, are asking fellow fans to take part in a minute’s applause in his honour in the 21st minute of Saturday’s home game against Nottingham Forest.11
The goal:
I won't forget that as long as I live.
Chris was someone very dear to me.
And I can tell you that all his family were at that game and all sat in the South stand behind the goal when the ball went in.
The goal went in right at the very end of the minute applause too.
I remember hearing people around me where I was sat remarking how special that must have been for his loved ones... not knowing that I was one of them and how right they were
